„JTIs“: EU and Industry plan 22 billion investment in research
10.07.2013 The EU-Commission considers the „public-private partnerships“ as important elements of the EU-innovation policy. In a communication from 10th July, a €22 billion-budget is announced, coming from European Commission, EU Member States and European industry. In addition, it is planned to continue the model „contractual PPP“. The proposed shortlist contains „Factories of the Future“, „SPIRE“ and „Robotics“, among others.
EU Reaches Informal Deal for Horizon 2020
08.07.2013 After reaching an agreement on the Horizon 2020 package, the negotiators of the Irish Presidency, Commission and Parliament paved the way for a start to Horizon 2020 at the beginning of 2014. The budget also seems clear: ultimately, around 70 billion euro may go to the next EU framework programme.
